Courier taxes and settlement

When you pay no tax, what the 8.5% flat-rate is and what about ZUS — no jargon.

Courier taxes sound scary, but in practice they are simple. The key point: students under 26 usually pay no tax, and otherwise it is most often an 8.5% flat-rate (ryczałt) on income.

Students under 26

If you are under 26 and a student, you usually qualify for an income-tax exemption (the relief for young people). It is one reason delivery is popular among students.

The 8.5% flat-rate

For other couriers the most common and simplest form is the flat-rate, most often 8.5% on income. You do not need complex bookkeeping; settlement is simplified.

The form of cooperation and any contributions depend on the specific work model. At registration we will explain how it looks in your case so you do not have to guess.

How to handle it in practice

In practice you are not left alone with this — you go through the paperwork via a partner who tells you what and when. For how to start, see the guide How to become a courier.
